This album was dropped about a year ago by Corbin Butler, an up and coming rapper/super producer. Always SLiP did an interview with Corbin. Here it is...
Hook : What's good fam, Can I ask you a few questions ?
Corbin : Yeaa man no problem. . .
Hook : What you been working on music wise ?
Corbin : The SurReal mixtape coming soon, and a follow up to Villain. . .
Hook : That's wassup, when did you drop Villain ?
Corbin : December of '08. . .
Hook : What was the inspiration behind it ?
Corbin : Trials and tribulations I had with this girl I was madly in love with, I mean sick in love with who didn't feel the same way . . .
Hook : So I take it she's the Villain ?
Corbin : Yea she is, the girl I was infatuated with my whole high school career . . .
Hook : How did the album come about ?
Corbin : I was just doing my normal studio sessions and every song just came out with the same theme and background which was her so I decided to put it all together. . . .
Hook : Do you feel the album was slept on ?
Corbin : Honestly half of my fan base was feeling it because they were used to and wanted the same Corbin just rapping with punchlines and metaphors and I switched it up on them with this one because this is how I was feeling at the time dark and emotionally powered, and the other half was feeling it. . .
Hook : Do you feel people can relate ?
Corbin : Definitely, everyone has felt or maybe not everyone but most people have felt this way before, I feel I say what a lot of males are afraid to say. . .
